Being a Thankful Leader

Written by: John Foster

It's hard to be Thankful when the world seems so dark around you from time to time. But being Thankful is not a jester, but a way of life.

You see, as leaders, we must continually show that we are Thankful for our position, in our position, and through our position. For if we are to "be influence" we must radiate the thing others want and desire, which is the gratitude we hold.

The key to being Thankful is expressing gratitude and recognizing your team for the hard work they put in every day. And their dedication, in your leadership, with their team members, and with the organization, does not go unnoticed.

But how do you create an environment of being Thankful

Make it positive!  Where your team feels valued and even motivated to perform at their best.

“As the leader, it's essential to acknowledge the important role your team plays in achieving the overall success of the mission of your organization.” John Foster

What else can you do to ensure a positive atmosphere of gratitude and being Thankful with your team:

  • Give recognition when it's due, and make sure it's acknowledged!

  • Make "Thank You" part of the culture through your leadership and team!

  • Create a culture of appreciation!

  • Actively listen! Pay attention to your team's ideas, thoughts, questions, and even concerns... let them know you care about their well-being.

  • Be genuine in your actions and in your leadership!

  • Show respect and respect will be reciprocated!

All in all, gratitude not only increases productivity, it increases morale, cohesiveness and your credibility as you lead so let's be grateful for the people we have who are helping us grow and be successful.

This not only applies to your role at work, but it also applies to your role at home with your family and friends. They, too, need the support of your leadership as they continue to grow. They too need to hear, "thank you" and a jester of your love.

The value of family is not only dear to your soul, but it is also essential for a healthy and happy life.

Let us not forget those in our lives who guided us through our younger years and helped shape the person we are today. Let us hold onto everything they taught us as we bring these same values to those we are leading every day.

"For without the comfort of a simple thank you, we would not know the power of what being Thankful means to others."  John Foster
